ForeWord is bi-monthly magazine, beginning each year with a January/February issue. We normally print 8,000 copies, with a couple of issues seeing 10,000+ when extra distribution is needed (BEA/ALA, and the book fairs in Frankfurt, London, Bologna, Beijing, etc).
ForeWord employs professional freelance reviewers from all over the United States and Canada. Most of them have “day” jobs at universities or libraries. Many of them also review for our peer journals, Kirkus, Booklist, Choice, PW and LJ.

ForeWord affects the choices of booksellers and librarians across the country who tell millions what to read. Our typical publication reaches an audience of 20,000. We also put the magazine in the hands of agents and editors at larger houses who are looking for leads to bring into their fold from the independent press sector. All told, readership is about 85% librarians, 12% bookstores, 3% publishing professionals
and our parents.
